Soaking
The bible teaches us that the most important aspect of vibrant Christianity is the believer's relationship with God: love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. The second aspect is to love our neighbour [Matthew chapter 22]. If we focus on the first commandment, to love God, we have to face the fact that our first point of service is NOT to our neighbour, Christian or non-Christian, but to God; to worship God with our love and adoration is our first responsibility as Christians. 'Soaking' worship is remarkably easy to organise; it is not so easy for some folk to enter in to the activity. Why?
'Soaking' worship involves taking time out from our daily activities to focus exclusively on worshipping God. Usually it is aided by music, live or on CD; but there is no reason why it cannot be with scripture readings whether live or CD/cassette. Some people do not ind it easy to sit or lie still for more than 15 or so minutes; they have to be constantly on the move and get fidgety! Biblically we have to consider the Mary/Martha passage in Luke
